Yes on a per bottle basis.  The money paid on any unopened bottles will of course be refunded after your wedding or event.

We like to look after the birds and the bees and this means not making too much noise later in the night, so we ask you to leave the glade by midnight & late licences are not permitted at The Wilderness.

We will share our Little Black Book of fabulous contacts, built up over the years- full of amazing suppliers for everything you could possibly desire! 

Yes of there is no event taking place the day before you are welcome to set up that day.

Yes we do indeed and we allow small ceremonial fire in controlled ways.

Yes we do.   You can choose to extend your stay in glamping the next day, subject to no overlapping bookings.  This means you can relax in the meadow over brunch and extend the celebrations.

Yes, we can allow a maximum 45 cars on the farm overnight.

Yes our caterers offer fully sustainable menus.  We also work with sustainable wedding dress designer Dulcima.

Yes absolutely, we all love dogs.

We have Knowlton Court Cottages, Rose Yard Barns, Perry Farmhouse & The Pig Hotel all within 15 mins drive.  The surrounding villages are also filled with quaint country pubs and very good Airbnb accommodations.  If you are looking for an affordable hotel with plenty of rooms there is a Premier Inn and Holiday Inn 15 minutes drive away.

Our standard capacity of 120 guests for the daytime and 150 guests in the evening is reflected in our published Venue Hire Rates.

Yes, subject to our terms & approval.

Preston Court has designed a its own ‘Wedding Bible’ to help make the planning process smooth.  This is worth its weight in gold.

Not only do we ensure we have at least one face to face planning meeting, we will also make you your own personalised digital planning documents, which are then checked by Jess our senior Event Manager. 

Together with our Little Black Book of contact you won’t have to spend hours trawling through websites to find the best of the best.

External weddings planners are not required unless you are planning to create something out of our usual scope. 

The Boat House in the meadow can be completed sealed so that it is waterproof.  You and your guests will stay dry and warm if the weather in unkind. 

Alternatively you can choose to have your wedding ceremony inside the Kata Tipi and this works really well.   There is a low level stage inside the tipi which creates a beautiful space to make your promises.  The tipi seats 120 people in in the middle of the woodland village so close to the bathrooms and the bar.

We will talk to you on the  morning of the wedding to see where you would like to hold the ceremony, so that we have as accurate weather prediction.

We have Gordon the golf buggy at their disposal so that they can be driven around the Wilderness and don’t have to worry about walking far.

The Wilderness is part of the Preston Court estate (Kent), just outside Canterbury in East Kent, on re-wilded land and ancient woodland. It’s known for rustic woodland weddings, tipi receptions, sustainability, and immersive nature settings. 

  • Boat House by the water’s edge (licensed for outdoor ceremonies, up to ~120) . 

  • Big Hat Tipi & Woodland Glade marry in the woodland inside a majestic tipi tent. 

  • Treehouse — intimate space for speeches or small ceremonies (licensed, for ~40 guests) .

The Wilderness is accessible from London on the high speed rail link from London St Pancras which takes 56 mins to Canterbury.  We are then a 15 minutes taxi ride to The Wilderness.
