There’s a reason they call it the “golden hour.” It’s that fleeting, magical time just before sunset when the light softens, and the world is bathed in a warm, amber glow. And there is perhaps no better time to say your vows than a 6pm PM evening in summer at the Wilderness Wedding Venue.
This stunning photograph from a recent September wedding perfectly captures the essence of that magic. Bathed in the soft, orange light of the setting sun over the British countryside, a happy couple is seen exchanging vows with their celebrant, high up in our uniquely carved oak pulpit.
“The light was just breathtaking. It felt like we were in a fairy tale, surrounded by the whispers of the ancient oak and the beauty of the sunset. Our photos are just incredible!”
What Makes our June Golden Hour So Special?
The Atmosphere: A 5.30pm May or September ceremony offers a truly intimate and romantic atmosphere. As the busy world settles, our secluded woodland takes on a special stillness, making your vows feel even more meaningful.
The Light: For photographers, this light is a dream. The warm, soft tones are incredibly flattering and create stunning, painterly effects that you’ll cherish forever in your wedding album.
The Location: Your ceremony is perfectly positioned to capture the sun dipping below the horizon across our nature reserve creating a breathtaking, natural backdrop that no other venue can replicate.
We love seeing how each couple personalises our space. This wedding featured beautiful cream roses and elegant greenery garlands, accentuating the natural dark wood of the treehouse and creating a perfect, romantic integration with the ancient oak. The entire setting, from the carved Gothic details to the gravel pathway, comes alive in this unique light.
